π Register Your 10DLC Number π
IMPORTANT UDPATE: All US-based businesses (with a US tax-ID registration) must classify their business for 10DLC compliance if they intend on using local numbers as of November 3, 2022.
From November 3, 2022, the Starter package is no longer supported. If you are a registered business in the United States, with a Tax ID (EIN), you are required to register for either a Low Volume Standard or a Standard 10DLC package. A Sole Proprietor package for hobbyists and sole proprietors who do not have an EIN is now available!
Register all of your 10DLC phone numbers now to avoid these penalties:
June 1, 2023: AT&T and T-Mobile will increase carrier fees for unregistered messages.
July 5, 2023: Gradual message blocking begins on US-bound messages.
After August 31, 2023: all messages sent from unregistered 10DLC phone numbers to US numbers will be blocked.
Why?
As spammers continue to leverage SMS for malicious campaigns such as phishing, the major telecom carriers are cracking down on 'unverified traffic' and as a result, businesses sending SMS traffic that is not verified (either for 10DLC or for toll-free number verification) will be subject to much higher carrier filtering and fees. Simply put, by not registering for SMS compliance, your messages may not get to their end destination and will cost you more than they have to.
Knowing that all businesses must register, how do I correctly register my SMS traffic?
