The aircall integration

Key benefits of the native aircall integration

  1. Use your aircall 10DLC registration:

    • You can now use any aircall SMS-compatible numbers directly for messaging through Salesmsg, removing reliance on Twilio numbers.

  2. Support for SMS & MMS:

    • The new API enables both SMS and MMS messaging, expanding your communication options.

  3. Automatic Number Configuration:

    • Numbers can now be configured automatically via the API, removing the need for manual setup through aircall.

  4. Regulatory Compliance for French Numbers:

    • Due to changes in France’s regulatory landscape, all French phone numbers must migrate off Twilio. The new API ensures continued messaging services for these numbers.

Before you begin:

To get started, confirm that your aircall number is configured for Salesmsg messaging by contacting aircall.

Once your number is configured by aircall for Salesmsg, it's time to navigate to your Salesmsg settings to link the integration.

Integrating with aircall

  1. Make sure you’re signed in as the Organization Owner in Salesmsg

  2. Navigate to your Settings → App Marketplace, and select aircall from the list of integrations

  3. Click the blue Connect button

  4. Login to airCall and select any number from the dropdown

Search for your aircall number

In Salesmsg, you can search for a specific number in the aircall Settings page to assign, or check its status.

If you don't see your number on the list, either select "refresh numbers" or simply search for your number.

Assigning your numbers

When your number has an "enabled" status it will be ready to assign!

  1. Open your aircall settings, under your Salesmsg settings for integrations.

  2. Select "Assign number"

  3. Select if you'd like to assign it to an existing member or a new member
You can also replace an existing Shared Inbox number or add a new shared inbox

  4. Verify your number is working by sending and receiving one message.

You can also assign an aircall number when you create a New Inbox.

Integration Features

Aircall Insight Cards

When you're on a call with someone in aircall, you’ll instantly get helpful insights about them - like past text conversations, saved notes, or even special details like their birthday.

With just one click, you'll be taken straight to Salesmsg, where their most recent conversation will pop up automatically.
No more digging - everything you need is right there, right when you need it.

Outbound calling to aircall

When using Salesmsg for your texting needs and you need to make a call, now there is a setting that can automatically place your outbound call directly into aircall, this allows for you to seamlessly continue using Salesmsg for all messaging and with no fuss still be able to place calls with aircall.

By enabling the "Use Organization Settings" the "Open outbound calls via aircall" will automatically be enabled, but to avoid using this feature deselecting the" Use Organization Settings" then you can manually select what calling settings you would want for the particular inbox.

Aircall conversation events

All-day we hop between multiple apps, so having a centralized timeline of events ensures we don’t miss any critical information. We’ve built an easier way for you to see all aircall call history on your Salesmsg timeline without switching back and forth between apps.

Call recordings and voicemails on Salesmsg timeline

When using the Salesmsg Call function you are now given all of the information that you need right in your Salesmsg timeline.

When using this your call on every contact will provide an AI summary, and a transcript on either the completed call of voicemail. This allows for a really simple recall on all of the calls and conversations you have with your contacts.

As well you can download the transcript for future reference or to send certain information to others.

To turn on this option just navigate to settings and enable the call transcription option.

Turn off aircall phone call timeline entries

If your timeline is getting swamped with phone call entries and think your conversations should look a bit cleaner, or if you just prefer to have all phone call entries turned off, you can find that option within the aircall integration Settings.

International messaging and billing

  • Cross-Country Messaging Limitations:
Initially, cross-country messaging won’t be supported in the new API. This means sending messages between countries may face limitations. Please provide feedback if this impacts your use case.

  • Country Compatibility:
By default, the new API supports SMS-compatible numbers in France, Germany, the UK, Spain, the US, Canada, and Australia. If you work with numbers from other countries, let us know to ensure compatibility.

  • Usage Billing Changes:
Customers may now be billed directly by aircall for SMS/MMS usage. This change aligns billing practices and ensures transparency for all messaging-related costs.

Sending a higher volume of texts? Enable MMS with Salesmsg instead!

If you're using an aircall number and plan to send a large number of texts (including pictures or videos), there's a simple way to make it work better: enable MMS with Salesmsg, while SIP-trunking calling back to aircall.

Here’s what that means for you:

  • You can send both regular texts (SMS) and picture/video messages (MMS) from your aircall number through Salesmsg.

  • Your aircall number will be connected to your Salesmsg 10DLC compliance, which helps your messages get delivered reliably.

  • You’ll still be able to make and receive calls through aircall, just like you do now.

This setup is great if your team sends a lot of messages and wants everything to run smoothly.

Connect with our team via live chat, or submit a ticket below to get the aircall MMS-enablement process started:

ticket by clicking HERE! ⬅️

What you can expect when enabling MMS for Salesmsg:

  • Your phone usage rate will change to Salesmsg usage rates for charges regarding SMS & MMS (texting only)

  • The transfer and MMS enablement process typically takes 2-3 business days once the request is successfully submitted

  • 10DLC compliance must be approved for your Salesmsg account, (for local numbers) otherwise outgoing texts to U.S. phone numbers will not work

Frequently Asked Questions

Can aircall numbers send SMS and MMS?

Are there limitations?

Cross-country messaging isn’t supported currently. Let us know if this impacts you.

Can I add multiple aircall numbers to my Salesmsg account?

For sure! You can have multiple aircall numbers in your dashboard and throughout your team. Once the Organization Owner is integrated, any number in your aircall dashboard can be set up for Salesmsg SMS and MMS.

Does calling with aircall numbers use up credits?

With aircall numbers, as long as you use the aircall app to make those calls, your Salesmsg credits are not used. (When you hit the call button in Salesmsg, it opens the aircall app.)

Can I assign numbers to a Smart Inbox?
No. Since aircall doesn't have local presence like we do, aircall numbers are not able to be assigned to a Smart Inbox.

Can I assign more than 1 aircall number to an Inbox?

No, there can only be 1 aircall number in a single inbox at a time.

Can I see who made an aircall outbound call in Salesmsg?

Your airCall outbound calls are registered in Salesmsg. You can easily see who on your team made a call in the timeline - making it easy to make sure the right people are always getting through.

How can I tell if my integration is disconnected?

Should an error occur on aircall or Salesmsg that disconnects your integration, the next time you log in to Salesmsg you'll see a large status bar at the top of your Salesmsg conversation page indicating your integration has disconnected.

Troubleshooting your aircall integration
If your texts suddenly stopped sending, it could be that the aircall integration in the admin's dashboard may have been disconnected. Check the Salesmsg Organization Owner/Admin account to reconnect the integration if necessary. If you're integrated but your texts are still not sending, try disconnecting and reconnecting your aircall integration to refresh the connection.
