Salesmsg for WhatsApp (BETA)

Salesmsg for WhatsApp BETA is a Chrome extension that brings your HubSpot CRM into WhatsApp Web. Every conversation automatically shows the matched contact, their open deals, company info, tickets, and recent activity in a sidebar, without switching tabs.

Log notes, create tasks, enroll in sequences, and update records directly from WhatsApp.

Requirements

  • Google Chrome (desktop)

  • HubSpot account (any tier)

  • WhatsApp Web access (web.whatsapp.com)

Step 1 β€” Install the Chrome Extension

  1. Install the Chrome Extension

  2. Click Add to Chrome

  3. When prompted, click Add extension

  4. The Salesmsg icon will appear in your Chrome toolbar

Tip: Pin the extension to your toolbar for easy access β€” click the puzzle icon in Chrome and pin Salesmsg for WhatsApp.

Step 2 β€” Connect HubSpot (Admin Only)

One admin connects HubSpot once. All teammates get access immediately after installing the extension.

  1. Click the Salesmsg extension icon in your toolbar

  2. Click Connect HubSpot

  3. You'll be redirected to HubSpot to authorize the connection

  4. Review the requested permissions and click Connect app

  5. You'll be redirected back β€” setup is complete

Your entire team can now use the sidebar. Each team member just needs to install the extension (Step 1) β€” no additional HubSpot authorization required.

Note: Only a HubSpot admin or user with the appropriate permissions can complete the connection.

Step 3 β€” Open WhatsApp Web

  1. Navigate to web.whatsapp.com in Chrome

  2. The Salesmsg sidebar appears automatically on the right side of the page

  3. Open any conversation β€” the sidebar instantly searches HubSpot by the contact's phone number

  4. If a match is found, you'll see their full CRM record

Using the Sidebar

When a contact is matched, the sidebar displays and you'll have access to take action on the contact, company, deals, tickets, and more.

  • Contact details. Name, email, phone, lifecycle stage, HubSpot owner, and more.

  • Deals. Open deals with stage, amount, close date, and urgency signals

  • Company. Name, domain, industry

  • Tickets. Open support tickets

  • Quick links. Add links for quick access.

If multiple contacts match the same phone number, you'll be shown a list to choose from.

Logging a Note

  1. Click Notes in the sidebar

  2. Type your note

  3. Use @name to mention a HubSpot owner β€” a dropdown will appear as you type

  4. Click Save

The note is saved directly to the contact's timeline in HubSpot.

Creating a Task

  1. Click Tasks in the sidebar

  2. Fill in the task title, due date, type, and assigned owner

  3. Click Save

Invite Your Team

Admins can invite teammates from the dashboard.

  1. Click Invite member

  2. Enter their email address and send the invite

  3. Once they accept and install the Chrome extension, they have full access to the sidebar

In BETA, all seats are included β€” there is no per-seat charge. Pricing is subject to change.
