Text contacts, check the last message, and start AI Agents, Campaigns or Power Dialer from any HubSpot record with the Salesmsg App Cards.

HubSpot is retiring the old (classic) CRM cards for all Marketplace apps. The new Salesmsg App Cards replace the old Salesmsg cards. HubSpot does not turn the new cards on for you. Turn them on once by following the steps below. It takes about a minute.

What you can do with App Cards

  • Send a text from a Contact, Company, Deal, Ticket, Order, Cart or Lead record

  • Choose the right number for contacts that have both a Phone and a Mobile Phone

  • Text a specific contact on a Deal, Company or Ticket

  • Start an AI Agent, Campaign or Power Dialer campaign for one contact or several at once

  • See the most recent message or call with its status

  • Catch wrong-number sends before you send from a different number than last time

  • Open the full conversation without leaving HubSpot

You'll find the cards in the record's right sidebar, in the record preview panel, and in the HubSpot Help Desk sidebar.

Before you start

Make sure that:

  1. Salesmsg is connected to HubSpot. Go to Settings → Integrations → HubSpot in Salesmsg. New to Salesmsg? You can also install it from the HubSpot App Marketplace without leaving HubSpot.

  2. Your HubSpot user is mapped to your Salesmsg user. Go to Settings → Integrations → HubSpot → Map HubSpot users to Salesmsg users. Each teammate who will use the cards needs to be mapped.

  3. You belong to at least one Salesmsg inbox with a phone number. The card only shows inboxes you're a member of.

Note: To turn on App Cards in HubSpot, you need permission to manage connected apps in HubSpot (for example, a Super Admin).

How to turn on App Cards

You only need to do this once for your HubSpot account.

  1. In HubSpot, click the Marketplace icon in the top navigation bar and select Connected Apps.

  2. Find and open Salesmsg.

  3. Go to the App Cards tab.

  4. Turn on Text & Engage Contacts and Text & Engage from Preview. If your team uses the HubSpot Help Desk, turn on the Help Desk card too.

  5. Click Manage locations next to each card and choose where it should appear: Contacts, Companies, Deals, Tickets, Orders, Carts or Leads.

  6. Click Save changes, then reload a HubSpot record.

That's it. The card now shows on your records.

Tip: Still see the old Salesmsg card on a contact? Click Enable Salesmsg app card for quick HubSpot texting at the bottom of the old card to go straight to the App Cards settings.

Note: If the card doesn't appear on Deals, Companies, Tickets, Orders, Carts or Leads, reconnect HubSpot in Salesmsg (Settings → Integrations → HubSpot → Reconnect) and approve the new permissions HubSpot asks for.

Send SMS

The Send SMS tab opens by default.

  1. From: Select the inbox you want to send from. If your inbox has several numbers, choose a specific number or leave it on Auto. The inbox you last used with this contact is selected for you.

  2. Contact: (Deals, Companies, Tickets, Orders, Carts and Leads only) Select the associated contact you want to text.

  3. To: Select the contact's Phone or Mobile Phone. The default number follows your Primary Phone Number Property setting in Salesmsg.

  4. Type your message (up to 1,600 characters).

  5. Click Send.

You'll see SMS sent successfully! when the message goes out. If the contact isn't in Salesmsg yet, Salesmsg adds them for you automatically.

Note: The card follows the same compliance rules as Salesmsg. Messages to opted-out or blocked contacts, and messages from numbers that aren't registered or verified yet, won't be sent.

View your most recent message

Below the Send button, the Recent Message section shows your latest message or call with the contact:

  • Inbound or outbound

  • Type: SMS, MMS, Call or Transcript

  • Date and time

  • From and To numbers

  • Status: Queued, Sent, Delivered, Failed or Received

  • Message text

Click Refresh to load the newest message. Want the full history? Click View Conversation to open the Salesmsg conversation in a pop-up inside HubSpot.

Engage with AI Agents, Campaigns and Power Dialer

Use the Engage with Automation tab to add contacts to a Salesmsg automation right from HubSpot.

  1. Open the Engage with Automation tab.

  2. Automation Type: Choose AI Agent, Campaign or Power Dialer Campaign.

  3. Automation Name: Choose the AI Agent, Campaign or Power Dialer campaign.

  4. Choose the phone number: on a contact record, select the contact's Phone or Mobile Phone; on a Deal, Company, Ticket, Order, Cart or Lead, select one or more Contacts, then choose which phone field to use.

  5. Click Engage.

You'll see a confirmation when the contacts are added.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why did the Salesmsg card disappear from my HubSpot records?

HubSpot is retiring the old CRM cards for every app in the Marketplace. Turn on the new Salesmsg App Cards using the steps in How to turn on App Cards above.

Do I need to reinstall Salesmsg?

No. Just turn on the App Cards in HubSpot. You only need to reconnect if the cards don't show on Deals, Companies, Tickets or other objects.

Does every teammate need to turn on the cards?

No. An admin turns them on once for the whole HubSpot account. Each teammate does need their HubSpot user mapped to their Salesmsg user.

Can I send pictures or use templates from the card?

The card sends text messages. To send media or use templates, click View Conversation.

Can I text a contact who isn't in Salesmsg yet?

Yes. Salesmsg creates the contact automatically when you send your first message.

Are messages sent from the card logged in HubSpot?

Yes. They're logged on the contact's timeline just like messages sent from Salesmsg.
