Mobile Contacts Overview

The Contacts feature in the Salesmsg mobile app allows you to view, manage, and interact with your contacts directly from your mobile device.


Contact Options

On the contacts tab, you'll see a list of your existing contacts across your Salesmsg account.

You can search for existing contacts:

Contact Actions

When you select a contact from the list, you’ll see several options for interacting with them:

  1. Send a Text: You can easily send a text message directly from the Salesmsg mobile app:

    • Tap the 'Send Text' button

    • Compose your message and hit 'Send'. The text will be sent using your Salesmsg phone number.

    • You can also use Saved Replies or insert personalization tokens to customize the message based on the contact's details.

  2. Email: You can choose to send an email to your Contact from your desired email platform

  3. Call the Contact: You have two options for calling:

    • From your Salesmsg number: Place a call directly from your Salesmsg number, maintaining your professional identity.

    • From your Mobile number: If you prefer to use your mobile phone number, you can choose this option and make the call as you normally would.

Additionally, from the menu -

You can:

  • Manually Opt-out the contact: This will prevent further communications from being sent to that contact through Salesmsg.

  • Block the contact: Should the need arise for you to block a contact from calling or texting a Salesmsg number - you have the option. You won't be notified if any new messages come from this contact

  • Edit Contact Details: Need to update information? You can edit the contact’s name, phone number, email, or other details at any time. Tap the 'Edit' button to make changes.


Importing Contacts from Your Phone

Salesmsg makes it easy to import contacts directly from your phone’s address book -
saving you time, and ensuring all your contacts are in one place!

To do that:

  1. Go to the 'Contacts' tab in the Salesmsg app.

  2. Tap the 'Create Contacts' option, then 'Import Contacts'

  3. Select 'Phone Contacts' from the list of available options.

  4. The app will request permission to access your phone’s contacts. Grant the necessary permissions.

  5. Choose the contacts you want to import into Salesmsg by selecting individual contacts or importing your entire phonebook.

  6. Once selected, tap 'Import', and the chosen contacts will be added to your Salesmsg account.

By importing contacts from your phone, you can quickly start conversations, send Broadcasts, or manage client relationships without needing to manually enter information.


Removing the Salesmsg Deep Link from a Contact Card

What's a deep link?

When your Contacts are synced from your mobile device, a 'deep link' becomes associated with that contact.

A deep link is a URL that directs you to the specific text thread with that contact, rather than just to the app's general landing page.

The Salesmsg deep link will look something like this on your contact's card: https://app.salesmessage.com/conversations?phone=+12675551234?

(The phone number field will differ depending on the contact's number.)


How can I remove the Salesmsg deep link associated with the contact card on my iOS device?

When you uninstall the mobile app, or your subscription is canceled - that Salesmsg link may still appear on your iOS device.
*On Android devices, these links are automatically removed when the app is uninstalled.

To remove that link on an iOS device:
1. Log out
2. Click the Settings wheel
3. Click the option to “Remove Salesmsg links from your contacts“

Tapping "Remove Salesmsg links from your contacts" deletes all Salesmsg associations from contacts and shows a confirmation message:

If that doesn't fully remove the links, your contact permissions may need to be given again (before once again tapping the option to "Remove Salesmsg links from your contacts").

To do that:
1. Give contact permission to the Salesmsg mobile app once again by deleting & reinstalling the app
2. Then, go to the Salesmsg mobile app's Settings, and switch off "Show Salesmsg link on Contacts" and “Show contact tags on conversation“ toggle
3. Restart the mobile app

These steps are not necessary on Android devices, as these links are automatically removed when the app is uninstalled.

To filter calls by outcome, go to the ‘Call History’ section, tap the filter icon, and select the outcomes you want to see, such as Completed or Missed calls.

Can I use my mobile network or Wi-Fi to make calls?

Yes, the Salesmsg mobile app supports both Wi-Fi and cellular network calls, so you can choose the best available connection for making calls.

What should I do if my microphone isn’t working for calls?

If your microphone isn’t working for calls, ensure that the Salesmsg app has microphone access permissions enabled in your phone’s settings.
