Notification Center

The Notification Center lets you choose how you get notified and which conversations and calls notify you. If you work across several shared inboxes, you can focus on your own work and stop getting alerts for activity that isn’t yours.

Finding your notification settings

Go to Settings, then Personal, and select Notifications. Your notification settings belong to you, so changing them won’t affect anyone else on your team.

Choosing how you get notified

At the top of the page, under How you will get notified, turn on the channels you want to use:

  • Inbox counter shows unread counts in your inboxes

  • Browser shows pop-up notifications on your computer

  • Mobile sends push notifications to the Salesmsg mobile app

  • Email sends notifications to your inbox

To make sure browser notifications are working, click Send test. If your browser is blocking notifications, you’ll see a warning and the Browser toggle will be turned off until you allow them in your browser settings.

Choosing what notifies you

Under When you will be notified, check the boxes for the activity you want to hear about. You’ll see a column for each channel you turned on above.

  1. For New messages, choose which conversations should notify you:

    • Conversations assigned to you

    • Conversations assigned to other users

    • Unassigned conversations

    • Conversations with contacts you own

  2. Check Mentions to be notified when a teammate mentions you in a note.

  3. Check Missed calls and Voicemails to be notified about calls you didn’t answer.

  4. Check Call queue and Incoming calls to get push notifications for calls as they come in.

If you turn a channel off and back on later, your previous checkbox choices are restored.

Setting your sounds

  1. Turn Message sound on or off, then choose a sound from the dropdown.

  2. Turn Call ringtone on or off, then choose a ringtone from the dropdown.

  3. Click play next to either option to preview it.

  4. Adjust the volume to your liking.

If your browser’s sound is muted, you’ll see a warning on the page so you know why sounds aren’t playing.

Muting inboxes

  1. Under Muted inboxes, click Add inbox.

  2. Select the inbox you want to silence.

  3. To start receiving notifications from it again, click Unmute.

Inboxes you mute here are also muted in your conversations view, and the other way around.

Setting other notification options

  • Ring everywhere rings incoming calls on all of your devices at once.

  • Email recap sends you a summary email of unread messages.

  • Activity report sends you an email report of account activity. This option is available to admins and owners.

What to expect

  • Your inbox counters and message sounds only reflect the conversations you’ve chosen to be notified about.

  • When you’re active on the web app, mobile push notifications pause so you aren’t notified twice. They resume after a few minutes of inactivity on the web.

  • Notification emails include a link back to this page so you can update your settings anytime.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will changing my settings affect my teammates?
No. Notification settings are saved to your own account, and each teammate manages their own.

Why can’t I select voicemail notifications for mobile?
Voicemail push notifications aren’t available on mobile yet. You can still get voicemail notifications through the inbox counter, browser, or email.

I don’t see the Activity report option. Why?
The Activity report is available to admins and owners only.

Troubleshooting tips

  • Not getting browser notifications? Click Send test. If you see a warning, allow notifications for Salesmsg in your browser settings, then return to the page.

  • Not hearing message or call sounds? Check that the sound toggle is on, the volume is up, and your browser tab isn’t muted.

  • Counter looks lower than expected? Your counter only includes the conversations you’ve checked under New messages. Check more boxes to include more conversations.
