"Automations" is ActiveCampaign's Marketing & Sales Automation feature. Utilizing the automation builder, you gain the ability to seamlessly craft fully automated workflows, finely tuned to the specific goals of your unique business. Thanks to native Salesmsg integration with ActiveCampaign, Salesmsg properties and custom objects can be used to create those automations. Once your automation is set up, it runs autonomously, freeing you from constant manual input.

Automations can be used in the following use cases:

Let's dive into how to create your ActiveCampaign automation with Salesmsg...

How to create a new automation

  1. Click Automations on the left menu.

  2. Click โ€œCreate an automation.โ€ A modal window will appear.

  3. Click "Start from Scratch" then click "Continue."

From there, add a trigger to enroll your users into automation, add an action you want to perform within the automation, choose the goal of it and conditions to segment the contacts - all using Salesmsg.

Add a start trigger

Trigger is a way for your customers to enter automation and the specific moment of time. You can Initiate an automation when a contact responds to a specific condition, enabling you to promptly follow up with a personalized response.

Salesmsg Custom Objects provide you with a seamless view of all SMS and call interactions for each associated contact. With every contact being reached through SMS or a call, the records are automatically updated in the contact's profile within ActiveCampaign:

You can trigger your automation by choosing Salesmsg Custom Objects in the Apps. Salesmsg Custom Objects include Salesmsg SMS is created, Salesmsg Call is created, Salesmsg SMS is updated, Salesmsg Call is updated:

You can also trigger automation by segmenting your customers using Salesmsg Tag:

Add an action to your automation

Once you configure the trigger, you'll be presented with a "Add a new action" modal. From here, you can set up automated and personalized Salesmsg SMS & MMS text messages. To automate your outbound text messages you can use CX Apps by choosing Salesmsg SMS, Salesmsg Send Ringless Voicemail or Salesmsg Send Ringless Voicemail (advanced) from the list:

Add a goal to your automation

You can set up goals for your campaign using Salesmsg Tags or Salesmsg Custom Objects as a condition for your goal. When a contact fulfills the specified conditions in a goal, they seamlessly progress from their current position within the automation to the Goal action, bypassing all intermediate steps. Both Salesmsg Calls and SMS can be utilized as conditions within the goal for automation.

If you use Salesmsg Call, you will be able to use various call properties as a condition, for instance, Call Disposition is completed. You can also use a specific date, call duration and more!

If you use Salesmsg SMS for your goals, you'll be able to choose various SMS properties as a condition, such as Message Body containing specific word, data, keyword and so on.

You can also use Salesmsg Tags as a condition for your goal:

Add a condition to your automation

Lastly, you can utilize SMS or Call interactions as conditions to segment your contacts and send targeted messages based on their needs. If the conditions are matched, automation will proceed to the defined actions.
