With Salesmsg, you can integrate and automate your outbound text messages to your contacts using ActiveCampaign's Automations.

How to Create a SMS Text Message
Step 1: Create Your Trigger
Triggers are your text messages that you want to send to your contacts from your ActiveCampaign Automation. You will first need to create your trigger in Salesmsg to then insert your webhook URL in your Automation.
Name | The internal name given to your trigger message. |
Integration | Select ActiveCampaign to reveal the next steps. |
Phone Field | This is the ActiveCampaign phone field where your contacts phone number resides. |
Send From | This is the phone number you want to the SMS to be sent from. |
Tags | You can apply certain Salesmsg tags to your contact when the trigger is fired. |
Message | Type in your personalized SMS text message. |
Step 2: Copy Your Webhook URL
After you have created your trigger, then copy your webhook URL.

How To Add Your Trigger to Your Automation Campaign
Now that you've created your Salesmsg Trigger and copied your Trigger webhook URL, let's hop over to your ActiveCampaign account to add this to your Automation campaign.
Step 1: Add a Webhook in Your Automation
From your Automation campaign, drag over the Webhook widget to where you want your Salesmsg SMS to be included.
Step 2: Paste in Your Salesmsg Trigger Webhook URL
Simply paste in the copied webhook URL and click Save.
And that's it! Your SMS message will now be sent to the contacts that enter into your Automation!
Analyzing Your Trigger Stats
As you send you triggers text messages, you'll be able to see the results of your messages.
Total | The total amount of outbound text messages that have been attempted. |
Success | The total amount of text messages that have been successfully delivered. |
Failed | The total amount of texts that have not been delivered. |
Replies | The total amount of replies generated from the outbound text message. |
Opt-Outs | The total amount of contacts that have opted out from your message. |
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to add my contacts first before using Triggers?
No, you will not need to add your contacts before sending your Trigger. Triggers will both ADD and SEND a text message to the contacts.
I forgot the name of my Trigger how can I identify it?
You can search Triggers with the URL in the Triggers page search bar in Salesmsg.
I'm not receiving the text messages when I test my campaign?
Be sure to check that you've selected the correct ActiveCampaign phone field in your Salesmsg Trigger. If the contact you are testing does not have a phone number then it will not work.Β
How do I ensure that my recipients only receive my texts during regular business hours?
From ActiveCampaign, you'll want to setup a Wait Condition before the text message is sent to the contact. Here is an example of between the hours 9am - 6pm (American/Chicago) time.
