Streamlined Conversation Management in Salesmsg

Salesmsg offers intuitive tools to help you keep your messaging organized and responsive, so you never miss an important chat again.

1. Sorting Conversations

You can now sort your chats in three helpful ways:

  • Newest First
Conversations with the most recent activity (like a message or call) appear at the top. This makes sure your newest interactions are front and center.

  • Oldest First
This flips things around - oldest conversations are shown first. It’s great for spotting overdue chats. If something pops up in a stale thread, it's moved to the bottom, so you can easily find what really needs attention.

  • Priority First
Want to keep your most important conversations visible? Mark them with a gold star! When sorting by ā€œPriority First,ā€ starred chats float to the top - recent ones first, followed by all other conversations sorted by how recent they are.

2. ā€œNeeds Responseā€ Filter

This smart filter shows only the conversations you still need to reply to:

  • It lists threads where you haven’t manually replied yet, even if you've read them. (Broadcasts or automated replies don’t count.)

  • Combine it with Oldest First to tackle the most neglected conversations first.

  • You can also remove a chat from the list manually, or mark one as ā€œNeeds Responseā€ again, even after replying - giving you full control.

3. Auto‑Closing Conversations

Keep your inbox clean without lifting a finger by setting up automatic closures.

To access these settings, navigate to the "Organization Settings" and locate the "Conversations" section. Here, you'll find two options along with an additional setting "Set the number of days of inactivity":

  • Auto‑Close After Inactivity
Define a period of inactivity (no messages, calls, or notes), and Salesmsg will automatically close those conversations - once daily at midnight UTC. It instantly closes any long-idle threads when first enabled.

  • Auto‑Close on Opt‑Out (Unsubscribe)
If a contact texts ā€œSTOPā€ to unsubscribe, that conversation will automatically close. If they want back in, they must text ā€œSTARTā€ within the same thread.

4. Flexibility Across Filters

Want to apply sorting and filtering beyond ā€œOpenā€ chats? You can!

Use these tools in filters like Closed, Unassigned, and more - giving you powerful control over how you view your conversations.

Frequently asked questions

Why aren’t my conversations sorting the way I expect?
Some actions, like sending mass broadcasts, don’t immediately update the conversation order. This is intentional to keep things running smoothly. If sorting seems off, just try refreshing your page. Still stuck? Reach out anytime through the chat bubble in the bottom-right corner of the app - we’re here to help!

Can I sort my conversations in other ways?
We’d love to hear your ideas! Share your suggestions on our feedback page. If enough people request the same feature, we’ll seriously consider adding it. Your input helps us make Salesmsg better for everyone!
