Frequently Asked Questions
What are Contact Tags used for?
Contact Tags help you categorize and organize your contacts for better inbox visibility. You can create tags like “Follow Up,” “High Priority,” or “Do Not Text.”
Can I use tags in group chats?
No. At this time, tags only display for individual one-on-one conversations. Group inboxes or group messages do not support tag visibility.
How many tags are visible in the inbox?
Up to 3 tags are shown in the inbox. If a contact has more than 3 tags, you’ll see a “+N more” label to indicate there are additional tags.
Can I see or change tags from the inbox?
No. Tags are shown in the inbox, but you can only manage them from the Contact Card by editing a contact's details.
Will my tag visibility setting sync across devices?
The Show Tags toggle is local to your iOS device. It won’t sync to the web or other devices at this time.
What happens if a contact has no tags?
Nothing extra will be shown in the conversation preview, keeping your inbox clean and focused.
Are tags shown in push notifications?
No. Tags are only shown in the inbox conversation preview—not in push or message notifications.
