This makes onboarding smoother and ensures you only pay for the numbers you actually want to use.
What Is Number Swapping
Number Swapping gives you the ability to:
Import all your ported numbers into Salesmsg at once
Review and organize them before committing to licenses
Remove or replace numbers without getting blocked by license limits
This helps you set up your account the way you want before finalizing which numbers you will keep active.
The Grace Period (How It Protects You)
To support flexible number management we provide a 48 hour Grace Period after importing Twilio numbers.
During the 48 hour Grace Period you can:
Temporarily exceed your number license limit
Swap out or release numbers you no longer need
Only pay for licenses tied to the numbers you keep active after the Grace Period ends
This ensures you are never forced to buy licenses until you finalize your setup.
How Number Swapping Works
Here is a simple breakdown of what happens when you import numbers from your Twilio subaccount:
Click Import Numbers or Refresh to pull in your ported numbers
If your imported numbers exceed your license limit your 48 hour Grace Period begins
Use this time to sort through your numbers and decide which to keep
If you keep more numbers than your license plan allows you will be prompted to add licenses
If you remove the extra numbers before the Grace Period expires you will not be charged for them.

Numbers Page – View imported numbers and take action
Unassigned Numbers Tab – See numbers that are imported but not assigned yet
