Overview

The Salesmsg + Attio integration connects your SMS communication with your Attio CRM workspace. Text contacts directly from Salesmsg and keep your Attio records automatically updated — without switching between apps or manually logging activity.

What You Can Do

  • Search Attio contacts from within Salesmsg to link conversations to the right person instantly

  • Create new contacts in Attio without leaving Salesmsg

  • Update contact records and have those changes reflected in Attio automatically

  • Two-way contact sync keeps linked contacts accurate across both platforms

  • Use Attio in Workflow Actions to trigger CRM updates based on texting events

How to Connect Attio

  1. Log in to your Salesmsg account.

  2. Navigate to Settings → Marketplace.

  3. Find Attio and click Connect.

  4. You'll be redirected to Attio — sign in with your Attio credentials.

  5. Authorize Salesmsg to access your Attio workspace.

  6. Once authorized, you'll return to Salesmsg and the integration status will show Connected.

Note: You must have an active Attio account and workspace access to complete the connection.

How to Disconnect Attio

  1. Go to Settings → Marketplace.

  2. Find the Attio integration.

  3. Click Disconnect.

  4. The status will update to Not Connected. Your Attio workspace data is not affected.

Syncing Contacts

Once connected, link your Salesmsg contacts to their Attio counterparts. Linked contacts sync automatically in both directions — changes in either platform stay in step with each other.

To link a contact:

  1. Open a conversation in Salesmsg.

  2. In the contact panel, search for the person by name or phone number.

  3. Select the matching Attio contact to link them.

Using Attio in Workflows

You can incorporate Attio into Salesmsg Workflows to automate record updates triggered by texting activity. For example, automatically update an Attio contact attribute when a customer opts in via text.

Go to Workflows in Salesmsg and add an Attio action to your workflow to get started.

Troubleshooting

  • The integration shows "Not Connected" Go to Settings → Marketplace, find Attio, and click Connect to re-authenticate. This is typically needed if your session expired or the connection was reset.

  • Contacts aren't syncing Only explicitly linked contacts will sync. Open the relevant conversation in Salesmsg and confirm the contact is linked to an Attio record.

  • I can't find an Attio contact when searching Make sure the contact exists in your Attio workspace and that your account has permission to view and edit that record.

  • Workflow actions involving Attio aren't running Verify the Attio integration is Connected in your Marketplace. If not, reconnect and your workflows will resume functioning.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is the sync real time? Yes. Linked contacts are kept in sync automatically as changes happen in either Salesmsg or Attio.

  • Will I lose any data if I disconnect? No. Disconnecting Attio only removes the sync link — all Salesmsg contacts and conversation history are preserved.

  • Can my whole team use the Attio integration? Yes. The integration is at the account level, so all team members with Salesmsg access can work with linked Attio contacts.

  • Do I need to redo my workflows after reconnecting? No. Workflow configurations are saved. After reconnecting, any Attio workflow actions will pick back up automatically.
