Overview

The Salesmsg + Insightly integration connects your texting activity directly to your Insightly CRM. Send and receive messages in Salesmsg while keeping contact records, updates, and workflows synchronized with Insightly automatically — no manual data entry required.

How to Connect Insightly

  1. Log in to your Salesmsg account.

  2. Navigate to Settings → Marketplace.

  3. Find Insightly and click Connect.

  4. You'll be redirected to Insightly's login screen — sign in with your Insightly credentials.

  5. Authorize the connection when prompted.

  6. Once complete, you'll return to Salesmsg and the integration status will show Connected.

Note: You need an active Insightly account with sufficient permissions to authorize third-party integrations.


How to Disconnect Insightly

  1. Go to Settings → Marketplace.

  2. Locate the Insightly integration.

  3. Click Disconnect.

  4. The status will update to Not Connected. No data in Insightly is deleted.


Syncing Contacts

After connecting, you can link individual contacts between Salesmsg and Insightly. Once linked, those contacts will sync automatically in both directions.

To link a contact:

  1. Open a conversation in Salesmsg.

  2. In the contact panel, search for the person by name or phone number.

  3. Select the matching Insightly contact to link them.


Using Insightly in Workflows

Insightly actions can be added to Salesmsg Workflows to automate updates based on text activity. For example, update an Insightly contact's status automatically when a conversation is closed in Salesmsg.

Go to Workflows and add an Insightly step in the workflow builder to get started.


Troubleshooting

  • The integration shows "Not Connected" Your session may have expired. Go to Settings → Marketplace and reconnect by clicking Connect and signing in to Insightly again.

  • Contacts aren't syncing Only contacts that have been explicitly linked between Salesmsg and Insightly will sync. Make sure the contact is linked before expecting sync activity.

  • I can't find a contact when searching Confirm the contact exists in Insightly and that your account has permission to access their record.

  • Workflows with Insightly actions stopped working Check that the Insightly integration shows Connected in your Marketplace. If not, re-authenticate and your workflows will resume.


Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is sync real time? Yes. Updates to linked contacts are synced automatically when changes occur in either Salesmsg or Insightly.

  • Does disconnecting remove my Salesmsg data? No. Disconnecting Insightly only removes the sync relationship. All Salesmsg conversations and contacts remain intact.

  • Can my whole team use this integration? Yes. The integration is account-wide — all team members can interact with linked Insightly contacts in Salesmsg.

  • Do I need to reconfigure my workflows after reconnecting? No. Workflow configurations are preserved. After reconnecting, Insightly workflow actions will resume automatically.
