Overview

The Salesmsg + Outreach integration lets you send and receive text messages directly from Salesmsg while keeping your Outreach contacts and workflows in sync. Whether you're prospecting, following up, or managing active sequences, your texting activity stays connected to your CRM data automatically.

What You Can Do

  • Search Outreach contacts from within Salesmsg to quickly link conversations to the right person

  • Create new contacts in Outreach without leaving Salesmsg

  • Update contact information and have changes reflect in Outreach automatically

  • Two-way contact sync keeps linked contacts up to date across both platforms

  • Use Outreach in Workflow Actions to trigger CRM updates based on texting activity

How to Connect Outreach

  1. Log in to your Salesmsg account.

  2. Navigate to Settings → Marketplace.

  3. Find the Outreach integration and click Connect.

  4. You'll be redirected to Outreach's login screen — sign in with your Outreach credentials.

  5. Grant Salesmsg the requested permissions.

  6. Once authorized, you'll be returned to Salesmsg and the integration status will show Connected.

Note: You must have an active Outreach account with the appropriate permissions to authorize the connection.

How to Disconnect Outreach

  1. Go to Settings → Marketplace.

  2. Find the Outreach integration.

  3. Click Disconnect.

  4. The status will update to Not Connected. Your existing contact data in Outreach is not affected.

Syncing Contacts

Once connected, you can link Salesmsg contacts to their Outreach counterparts. Linked contacts will automatically stay in sync — changes made in either platform update the other.

To link a contact:

  1. Open a conversation in Salesmsg.

  2. In the contact panel, search for the person by name or phone number.

  3. Select the matching Outreach contact to link them.

Using Outreach in Workflows

You can include Outreach actions in Salesmsg Workflows to automate CRM updates based on texting events. For example, automatically update a contact field in Outreach when a customer replies to a message.

To set this up, go to Workflows and add an Outreach action step to your workflow builder.

Troubleshooting

  • The integration shows "Not Connected" This usually means your session has expired or the connection needs to be re-established. Go to Settings → Marketplace, click on Outreach, and reconnect by signing in again.

  • Contacts aren't syncing Make sure the contact is linked in Salesmsg. Only contacts that have been explicitly linked between the two platforms will sync automatically.

  • I can't find a contact when searching Confirm that the contact exists in your Outreach account and that your Outreach user has permission to view that record.

  • Workflow actions aren't firing Check that your Outreach integration is in a Connected state and that the workflow is active. If the connection was recently updated, you may need to re-authenticate.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Does this integration work in real time? Yes. Contact updates and sync actions happen automatically when changes are made in either platform.

  • Will disconnecting Outreach delete my Salesmsg contacts? No. Disconnecting the integration only removes the sync link — your Salesmsg contacts and conversation history are not affected.

  • Can multiple team members use the Outreach integration? Yes. The integration is account-level. All team members with access to Salesmsg can use linked Outreach contacts.

  • What happens to my workflows if I disconnect and reconnect? Your workflow configurations are saved. After reconnecting, workflows with Outreach actions will resume functioning normally.
