Overview
The Salesmsg + Front integration connects your SMS communication with your Front CRM workspace. Text contacts directly from Salesmsg and keep your Front records automatically updated — without switching between apps or manually logging activity.
What You Can Do
Search Front contacts from within Salesmsg to link conversations to the right person instantly
Create new contacts in Front without leaving Salesmsg
Update contact records and have those changes reflected in Front automatically
Two-way contact sync keeps linked contacts accurate across both platforms
Use Front in Workflow Actions to trigger CRM updates based on texting events
Text from Front: SMS conversations from your mapped Salesmsg inbox appear directly in Front, and agent replies send as real text messages
How to Connect Front
Log in to your Salesmsg account.
Navigate to Settings → Marketplace.
Find Front and click Connect.
You'll be redirected to Front — sign in with your Front credentials.
Authorize Salesmsg to access your Front workspace.
Once authorized, you'll return to Salesmsg and the integration status will show Connected.
Note: You must have an active Front account and workspace access to complete the connection.
How to Disconnect Front
Go to Settings → Marketplace.
Find the Front integration.
Click Disconnect.
The status will update to Not Connected. Your Front workspace data is not affected.
Viewing your Front inbox mappings
Once Front is connected, the Settings tab shows which Front inbox each Salesmsg inbox is mapped to, so you can confirm your setup without leaving Salesmsg. It's read-only, mapping itself happens entirely in Front. If no inboxes are mapped yet, you'll see an empty state here. Changes made in Front reflect automatically, no reconnect needed. If Front is disconnected, this tab disappears entirely.
Texting via Front Application Channel
Once your Salesmsg inbox is mapped to a Front Application Channel, you can send and receive SMS without leaving Front.
How it works:
When a contact texts a mapped Salesmsg inbox, the message appears as a conversation in the linked Front channel
Messages in the same conversation are grouped into one continuous thread
When an agent replies in Front, it's delivered as an SMS to the contact and also appears in the Salesmsg conversation timeline
Setting up the mapping: Inbox mapping is configured entirely in Front, not in Salesmsg. Each Salesmsg inbox maps to exactly one Front inbox.
In Front, go to Settings → Inboxes.
Select the inbox you want to receive Salesmsg texts in (or create a new one).
Under Channels, connect the Salesmsg channel to that inbox.
See Front's Help Center for general channel setup guidance.
Syncing Contacts
Once connected, link your Salesmsg contacts to their Front counterparts. Linked contacts sync automatically in both directions — changes in either platform stay in step with each other.
To link a contact:
Open a conversation in Salesmsg.
In the contact panel, search for the person by name or phone number.
Select the matching Front contact to link them.
Using Front in Workflows
You can incorporate Front into Salesmsg Workflows to automate record updates triggered by texting activity. For example, automatically update an Front contact attribute when a customer opts in via text.
Go to Workflows in Salesmsg and add an Front action to your workflow to get started.
Troubleshooting
The integration shows "Not Connected": Go to Settings → Marketplace, find Front, and click Connect to re-authenticate.
Contacts aren't syncing: Only explicitly linked contacts sync. Confirm the contact is linked to a Front record from the conversation's contact panel.
I can't find a Front contact when searching: Confirm the contact exists in your Front workspace and that your account has permission to view it.
Workflow actions involving Front aren't running: Verify Front shows Connected in your Marketplace.
A text isn't showing up in Front: Confirm the Salesmsg inbox is mapped to a Front channel under Settings → Inboxes → Channels. Messages to an unmapped inbox won't relay to Front, but they're still delivered and visible in Salesmsg.
I sent an image or file from Front and the contact didn't get it: MMS and attachments aren't supported through this integration yet, only plain text sends.
My reply from Front didn't send as a text: Make sure you replied with a text message, not an internal comment, and that the channel is still connected.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the sync real time? Yes, linked contacts sync automatically as changes happen in either platform.
Will I lose any data if I disconnect? No, disconnecting only removes the sync link. Contacts and conversation history are preserved.
Can my whole team use the Front integration? Yes, it's connected at the account level, so everyone with Salesmsg access can work with linked Front contacts.
Do I need to redo my workflows after reconnecting? No, workflow configurations are saved and pick back up automatically.
Where do I set up inbox-to-channel mapping? In Front, under Settings → Inboxes, not in Salesmsg. There's currently no mapping view inside Salesmsg's Marketplace settings for the texting feature.
Can I send images or attachments through Front? Not yet, this integration currently supports SMS text only.
