Under the TCPA (Telephone Consumer Protection Act), it's mandatory to remove customers from text message marketing campaigns if they make a reasonable request to opt-out. We call this process the "opt-out" process in SMS marketing.

Just like customers can opt-in by texting a certain keyword, they can also request to opt-out at any time by texting "STOP". At Salesmsg, we've made it easy for customers to opt-out, even if they make typos or use variations of the word "STOP". We've designed our system to recognize alternative phrases.

Manually Unsubscribe Contacts

From Salesmsg, you can unsubscribe contacts one by one or in bulk. You can also do this in bulk fron the conversations and contacts pages.

How to Resubscribe Contacts

When a contact replies STOP, they can resubscribe by replying START. To remain compliant, you will not be able to re-subscribe them from Salesmsg, this falls on the user to reply back in to opt-in.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will any opted-out contacts receive any Triggers, Broadcasts, or messages from my CRM workflows or campaigns?

No. Once they are opted-out they will no longer receive any message until they are opted-in again. Salesmsg will simply skip these numbers and not attempt to send any messages to these contacts.

Can I customize the opt-out message?

For long code messages, we do not have the option to change these default messages. For a dedicated Short Code, you can customize the messages. Please contact support to discuss changing the default opt-out messages.

Can I export a list of opted-out contacts?

Yes you can. From the contacts page, select the Opt-in Status > Opted-out and you'll see a filter for all of your opted out contacts.
