UK- Based Sign-up

Salesmsg now supports UK-based sign-up, so you can register, get approved, and start texting and calling from a UK number.

Before you can purchase a UK number, carriers require a quick compliance review. This article walks you through what to expect from sign-up to your first message.


Signing up with United Kingdom as your country triggers a compliance onboarding flow. You'll need to complete a UK Regulatory Bundle before purchasing a UK number. Once approved, you can buy a UK number and start texting and calling.

There are three steps in the process:

  1. Complete UK compliance

  2. Buy a UK number

  3. Start texting and calling


Signing Up as a UK User

  1. Go to the Salesmsg sign-up page.

  2. Select United Kingdom as your country. You'll see it listed with an Available badge.

  3. Complete the rest of the sign-up form and create your account.

  4. Once you log in for the first time, a modal will appear titled Get approved to use UK numbers.


Completing the Compliance Modal

When you first log in, a Get approved to use UK numbers modal appears. What you see depends on your role:

If you're an admin or owner:

  • You'll see a prompt explaining that carriers require a compliance review before you can text or call from a UK number.

  • Click Get approved to go directly to the UK compliance page and start the process.

  • You can also click Close to dismiss the modal and return to it later.

If you're a team member (non-admin):

  • You'll see a message asking you to have one of your admins complete the compliance review.

  • Click Got it to close the modal.

The modal appears only once per user and device, and only if the UK Regulatory Bundle has not yet been submitted.


Purchasing a UK Number

Once your compliance bundle is approved, you can purchase a UK mobile number from your account.

If you try to purchase a UK number before completing compliance, you'll see a banner with the following message:

Carriers require UK compliance before purchase. Complete the UK Regulatory Bundle to buy and use UK numbers for messaging and calls.

Click Get approved in the banner to go to the UK compliance page, or click Learn more to review the compliance requirements.


What to Expect

  • The compliance modal appears only once per user and device combination.

  • Admins and owners are the only roles that can submit the UK Regulatory Bundle.

  • You cannot purchase a UK number until the bundle has been approved.

  • Once approved, you can send SMS and MMS messages and make calls from your UK number.

What is the UK Regulatory Bundle? It's a compliance filing required by UK carriers before you can purchase or use a UK number. The process is similar to setting up a business profile and doesn't require additional information beyond what you've already provided.

Can team members complete the UK compliance? No. Only admins and owners can submit the UK Regulatory Bundle. If you're a team member, ask an admin to complete this step.

What happens if I close the compliance modal? Closing the modal doesn't start the compliance process. You can return to the UK compliance page any time through your account settings.

How long does approval take? Approval timelines vary based on carrier review. Once your bundle is approved, your UK number will be available to purchase.
