How to Create Your CSV File For Import
Step 1: Download The Template File
We only accept using a CSV file and do not accept XLS, XLXS, or other file types.
Step 2: Paste In Your Contacts In The Columns
The phone number is the only required field.
- Phone (required)
- First name (optional)
- Last name (optional)
- Email address (optional)
Step 3: Export Your File As A CSV
Export your file as a CSV for a seamless import.
IMPORTANT: If importing an XLS or XLXS file you may experience a failure on your import. We recommend using a CSV file for a successful import.
How To Import Your CSV File
Step 1: Go to The Contacts Page & Select Import Contacts
Step 2: Select to Add Your File or Copy/Paste
You can select to import contacts using the CSV file you have or by copying and pasting the contacts you have.

Step 3: Map Your Fields
You will need to map over the fields to Salesmsg. Currently, the only available fields are First Name, Last Name, Email, and Phone Number. All other fields we will ignore.
Step 4: Apply Tags & Start Import
We highly recommend applying tags to the contacts that you import. For example, if you want to send a broadcast to your contacts, then apply a tag here and when creating the Broadcast to select this tag, which contains all of these contacts.
My contacts are not being imported?
First check to see the file type you are uploading to Salesmsg. If it's anything other than a CSV then it will fail upon import. You can choose to paste in your contacts as well.
How many contacts can I import to Salesmsg?
You can import up to 10,000 contacts at a time. If you have more, we recommend breaking them up into 10,000 chunk files for a smooth import process.
