Step 2: Copy Your Webhook

After you've created your Trigger, click on the icon to copy your webhook URL.

Step 3: Insert your webhook

Now that the webhook is created attempt to use it on your platform, for the purposes of this tutorial we'll ping our custom webhook with Ontraport. No matter what platform you want to use the webhook on, there must be a field to insert the webhook and a method to enroll contacts into the automation that the contact information will be processed on the webhook.

In this step, we are telling the Salesmsg webhook what the property title to target for that field is. It should be straight forward enough, phone=phone number, las = lastname, ect.

With many automation tools, there are two methods of enrollment. Contacts either get enrolled manually by a user or they meet some qualification that automatically enrolls them. For our example, we'll manually enroll our contacts.

Not only does this serve to send the message, but it will also create contacts if a contact with that phone number does not already exist.

You can reach out to [email protected] to verify the status of the contact that was intended to be processed on a webhook if your platform does not have any task or automation history or reporting.
