Subscription Message Credits

For more information click on this link πŸ‘‰ SMS, MMS, and A2P 10DLC Carrier Fees

Salesmsg passes through wireless carrier fees charged by carriers on messages sent from toll-free numbers. We pass these fees to our customers with no markup. Please see the fee schedule below for both U.S. and Canadian carriers.

Outbound and Incoming texts

Each outgoing and incoming text counts as a message credit depending on the length of the text. One outbound text could be anywhere from 153 to 160 characters based on whether or not you are using unique symbols. Any text with more than 160 characters will use an additional message credit. There's an indicator in the text box of how many message credits your text will use.

Toll-Free Message Verification

For more information click on this link πŸ‘‰ Toll-Free Message Verification (USA/Canada)

Toll-free message verification is a process where businesses and their use cases are reviewed before sending traffic via toll-free numbers to the US and Canada.

This verification process is free of charge and greatly reduces the risk of message filtering on toll-free traffic for all major networks in the US and some in Canada, as long as the business adheres to their stated use case and all applicable rules, such as Twilio's messaging policy.

This verification applies to messaging to mobile users in the US and to the Fido, Rogers, Telus, and Videotron networks in Canada. In other countries, toll-free SMS is treated the same as other international SMS, and businesses should consult the country's SMS guidelines page for compliance considerations.

Toll-free verification is currently required in the US and Canada for optimal delivery.

To avoid traffic being blocked in Canada or subject to increased filtering and daily sending limits in the US, it is important to complete the verification process as soon as possible. This verification process is part of aligning sender visibility with short code and 10DLC messaging channels. If your toll-free numbers have already been verified, no further action is needed.

Understanding which businesses cannot use SMS

As we know, SMS is one of the most valuable channels to connect with customers. With the rise in popularity of SMS as a channel, we're seeing a rise in spammers and businesses operating in unsupported categories as defined by the major wireless carriers. SMS traffic is highly regulated and as a result, there are categories of businesses using SMS that are not supported by wireless carriers.
